I mean, Obama's cool and all, but let's not put the blame on other people so we can pretend like he's perfect or something.

I thought that the Chief Justice guy screwed up the oath and then Obama paused so that the guy could correct himself.
That's what CBC said at any rate
The way I saw it, Obama accidentally interrupted the Chief Justice before he was done the first bit.
CJ: "I, Barrack Hussein Obama, do--"
BO: "I, Barrack Huss.. [oops]"
CJ: "--solemnly swear..."
BO: "I, Barrack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear..."
Now I wasn't sure what happened the other time. CJ guy said something, and then Obama didn't say anything at all. I had thought he couldn't remember the sentence, because it was so long (I would have felt the same way). The CJ guy repeated, and then Obama got it. I suppose CJ could have said it wrong, and Obama waited, but I didn't notice a difference the second time around. But CBC likely knows better than me.
So perhaps they both screwed up.
I dunno about the first time but the second time CBC said it was because the Chief Justice screwed up the wording and Obama paused so that he could say it correctly.
